Phi Alpha Theta

Phi Alpha Theta, the international Honor Society in History, has a chapter on the campus of the University of Delaware. With chapters on college campuses in all fifty states, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Philippine Islands, Phi Alpha Theta is one of the most respect honor societies in the country. Its student members are eligible for a number of prizes and scholarship awards annually.


Undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (4 courses) in History, achieve a minimum GPA of 3.1 in History and a GPA of 3.0 or better overall. A maximum of 3 credit hours online, transfer, or AP credits may be applied to the membership eligibility requirement

Applications are accepted in February and the deadline is March 1, 2019. Payment of dues for those accepted applicants is March 20th. The induction ceremony takes place in April each year.
